Logo design for the Refugee Olympic Team emblem.
Did you know there is a @refugeeolympicteam which allows displaced athletes to compete?
At #Paris2024, the team, which was formed in 2016, will see 37 athletes compete, representing over 100 million displaced people around the globe.
Unlike any other team at the @olympics, the athletes are not united by common geography, but rather by their geographical displacement.
The design is based on a way marker arrow, a symbol of movement, direction and travel, which is fundamental to the refugee experience. These disparate way markers unite to form a circle of negative space that frames a red heart – the symbol of the Olympic Refuge Foundation charity.
